The Art Market at Holmfirth- June 10th 2012

Over the past month or so I have been so busy preparing for The Art Market at Holmfirth Indoor Market which happened last Sunday. I was working none stop to get everything ready, not only my work but me and my brother (mainly my brother)have been working on boards to present my work on, as unlike an fairs which I have done so far, the art market has market stalls, which I really like and I was able to think about height for my work. I was really nervous about them and if they were too big or too small.

When I got to Holmfirth everyone was so friendly and really interested in the Art work and there are so many talented artists exhibiting their work.  A really friendly, interesting and great art market.

And some very exciting news! I won ‘Outstanding Artist Award’ on Sunday at the Art Market; I was so shocked that I won this award with so many amazing artists there. I really wasn’t expecting it and it really means a lot! With my award I get a stall at the next Art Market in November and also mentoring off the wonderful Fiona Pattison fromHappy4PR. Really looking forward to November and hopefully my new product will be done and refined by then.

Here is a podcast done by Fiona Pattison with me and winning my award.

Thank you very much to Ffion Atkinson for the pictures who was taking wonderful snaps thoughout the day!

If you are free on Sunday 24th June go see some amazing artists at The Art Market, you wont be disappointed!

Hello April!!

Gosh its April already!! I have been so busy, moving into Jill Shaddocks studio. It nice and bright and can’t wait to get started on my new product!

My Solo Show at Yellowstone Art Boutique, Trentham Estate has started and it is on until the 25th May. The opening of the show was also Yellowstone Art Boutiques 1st Birthday Party, it was really special! Was so happy that Hannah Stoney chose me and my work to help to celebrate this special event.
Me at the Opening and Party

My nana and grandad popped in to look at it too.

I loved making the work for my solo show as I had so many ideas that I wanted to do and also I was able to do loads of different sizes and shapes. My favourite is the long cream ladies walking with the dogs.

Its really nice to have an exhibition so close to home as my milk customers are able to see my work and what I do. They are all really supportive. And I have even been in the local paper with it.

A very late Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year!!!
I hope everyone has had a lovely Christmas and New Year. I was so busy up to Christmas with my Christmas craft fairs. I exhibited at South Hill Park, Bracknell which was a lovely first craft to show my work at as everybody was so very friendly, also I had a stall at Craft in the city in Nottingham and Merge Contemporary Craft Fair, Oundle. Everybody was so pleasant at all the craft fairs and really enjoyed them. It was really nice to get feedback from customers and most people couldn’t believe I was actually milk girl.

Over Christmas, I also was busy with commissions and did a lovely one as a wedding gift for the happy couple. It was a real honour to do as it was going to be a present off the mother of the bride, and I loved designing it. The bride was so surprised how alike the dress was to hers. I hope I get a few more of those because I really enjoyed it.

I have also been busy stocking art galleries which are totally amazing to have my work in, and I will be doing a photo-shoot over this weekend so you will finally be able to buy my work online.
My work is now stocked at
Bakewell Arts and Design Gallery in Bakewell,
The Seed Gallery, Crich
Debbie Bryan Shop & Studio, Nottingham                             here am mentioned in her blog post
My work is currently at Smithy Studios, Glossop.

For Christmas I had some new screen printing equipment which is enabling me to develop my new range ‘On the High Street’ which will highlight the decline of the local high street and those independent businesses which are disappearing.

I am pleased to announced that I have been selected to be a Design Factory Flow Member which is very exciting.
I am now also sponsored by Gutermann Threads which I am very thankful for.

I will be exhibiting at Sock, Arts and Crafts Purchase and Commission Fair, Loughborough (24-25th March)  Am really looking forward to this event; it will be my first craft fair of 2012.

Other exhibitions I will be in later in the year-
A group showcase of the Royal Exchange Craft Shop Graduate winners (name to be confirmed) 5th March to 28th April
‘May all your dreams come true’ at Heart Gallery, Hebden Bridge (14th May- 8th July)
‘Found’ Exhibition at Unit 12, Stafford (2nd August- 27th October)
I will also be doing a workshop at Unit 12 ‘Upcycling Ceramics’ on the 5th October.
